Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna, Austria

A fascinating place! Very nice arranged park. There are many amazing landscaped gardens, benches around, beautiful trees, lots of flowers, great fountain.
It’s free, you can have a very relaxation walk.

It is also could be wonderful to walk the park upstairs, up on the top of the hill – at Gloriette, where you can enjoy a glimpse of the grandeur of the palace and you can admire the all city panorama.

The panoramic hop-in/hop-off train is also available, the guide of which is rather scarce.
Take into account that the tour itself may be not very “panoramic”.

At sunny days sun umbrella is a must 🙂 not to have a heat stroke and don’t forget to carry your water bottles because you will have to walk a lot.

You can’t miss the central building, Schönbrunn Palace, beautiful baroque royal building with a rich history built to rival Versailles due to the French-Austrian rivalry.

It’s better if you book the tickets online to avoid long queues. There are ticket LIVE desks and ticket machines.
It is told that to buy a family ticket you have to wait in a queue for the ticket LIVE desk.
Since the number of people allowed in the palace is limited it’s possible you have to wait to get in even 3-6 hours (at the same time there are cases like where a visitor arrived at 09:15 and got available slot at 09:50).

Taking pictures inside is forbidden.

Some visitors report that the palace audio guide is rather scarce (circa 1 min per room average) and so it’s may worth to be equipped with some additional sources of information to make your visit more informative.
Other ones mention that you won’t see all the rooms, tour is quick and relative to other sites you may have seen, so being short of the time and not being a big fan of palaces it’s may worth to skip the inside palace tour.
